QuantumDiamonds and Fraunhofer EMFT announce Partnership to advance Quantum Sensing Technology
QuantumDiamonds GmbH, a technology startup based in Munich, and Fraunhofer EMFT, a member of the Fraunhofer Network of Microelectronics with extensive experience in semiconductor analysis and testing, are happy to announce a new partnership within the Munich Quantum Valley (MQV) network.
Last week, Kevin Berghoff, CEO of QuantumDiamonds, Dr. Horst Gieser, Head of Analysis and Test at Fraunhofer EMFT, and Dr. Daniela Zahn from Fraunhofer EMFT signed an agreement to enhance their collaboration. This partnership aims to further the development of quantum science and technology in Bavaria.
The current joint project focuses on developing a high-resolution, multimodal quantum sensing microscope designed for advanced semiconductor analysis. This innovative microscope will enable precise temperature and magnetic field measurements with a spatial resolution of just a few hundred nanometers. Such precision is crucial for analyzing and verifying the performance and authenticity of integrated circuits and multi-chip modules. Beyond semiconductor applications, this technology has broad potential uses, ranging from biological and medical research to energy systems.
This partnership builds on previous successful collaborations with Fraunhofer EMFT, where they provided QuantumDiamonds with initial test chips for their sensing systems. Fraunhofer EMFT’s approach to open innovation and collaboration with industry aligns with QuantumDiamonds’ goals of advancing sensing technology alongside research institutes.
Together, QuantumDiamonds and Fraunhofer EMFT look forward to the projects ahead and to sharing more updates on their work in the Munich network.
